Lightscape - 'For Present, For Past' EP Review

Norwich based Alternative Quintet, Lightscape, bring their own style to the genre, pairing beautifully powerful riffs and solo guitar licks with passionate vocal melody lines.

Although the EP is only three tracks it will have you cowering at the replay button begging for more. The First Track Running is a great track showcasing the bands talent. They dabble with electronics here too that really blend well with the mix, emphasizing the powerful anthemic choruses. The songs are so well put together that I wouldn’t be surprised if this band were in the charts at some point next year.

You leave Me Here is the Second song on the EP, it is very atmospheric and light in comparison to the previous tracks. The guitar effects and riffs will place you in outer space waiting for the brilliant crescendo of drums and vocals that hit you back to Earth. The vocals as always spot on here too, featuring a brilliantly performed falsetto riff.

Blinded By Light is the last track on the EP it features a dark riff binding together a thrash of Drums and bass that will have you jumping from wall to wall. The lyricism in the verses and choruses are not only gorgeously performed but have passionate meaning in them.

The EP is really well recorded and the tracks themselves are well worthy of being in any chart be it Pop or Alternative, this is a band you need to listen to now. I expect after playing shows with the likes of Lonely The Brave they will be on to great things in the future.

7/10 Great EP, amazing riffs and vocal lines, definitely recommend for anyone into Alternative or Pop-Rock. Wish there was more tracks on the EP to get stuck in too.
