As Lions: 'White Flags' Single Review

Rise To Remain were such a promising young band; "City Of Vultures" was a well received d├ębut album, and as the new kids on the metalcore block, they got noticed. Winning "Best New Band" awards in both Metal Hammer and Kerrang! showed they had the fans behind them too and the world was their oyster...alas...just a couple of short years later, they disbanded. The good news? In their place, Austin Dickinson has formed a new band; AS LIONS. They recently dropped their brand new single "White Flags" and it fucking ROCKS.

Produced by David Bendeth (Paramore, A Day To Remember) and mixed by Josh Wilbur (Avenged Sevenfold, Megadeth) you have a perfect combination of anthemic hooks and melodic metal and it sounds absolutely huge. From the sprinkling of piano giving the song an extra level of depth and maturity, to the simply massive chorus; Dickinson's got a great set of pipes on him (like father like son) and he shines here, singing his heart out, you can feel the passion in this performance. This is some damn catchy metal at it's riff-laden best and easily one of the best songs you'll hear in 2016. They release their full EP later this year and it is DEFINITELY one to look out for. [9]
