South Wales rockers Peasant's King are set to release their brand new single 'Give A Little Love' on July 6th and may we be one of many to tell YOU that you should be very very excited about it. The band signed to Visible Noise in 2013 and made a huge impact through BBC Introducing. Check out what we thought of he new single...
To start, who better to explain what the song is about than vocalist Dan Evans who states:
"'Give A Little Love' tells the story of a young man falling in love for the first time. He has no idea what love is, or what it means. The lyrics shadow his movements around the school playground, his emotions, actions such as writing his sweethearts' name on his hand, and the fear of telling her that's how he feels. He's too young to realise how he feels."
There is a beautiful meaning behind the song and it is nice to hear music that truly moves you in an instant. The song is fantastic, a real summer sing-along and long-drive listener. Peasant's King's themes and lyrics are mature and defined and they sound like a band that has carefully created and moulded the quality of what they do for a long time. Catchy hooks and a pop driven structure pave the way for absolutely stunning vocals. Imagine Mumford and Sons meets The Gaslight Anthem sprinkled with the upbeat pop sound that makes Peasant's King distinctive... and then some.
If you aren't familiar with the band or haven't heard of them then this is probably one of my biggest recommendations to date. These guys mean business and I have a feeling that when their album drops it will make some serious waves. One thing is for sure, 'Give A Little Love' will be stuck in your head for days and days.
'Give A Little Love' is taken from the bands upcoming album 'David' which is set to be released in Autumn. The album will document the life of vocalist Dan Evans late grandfather. You can be sure we will be checking it out too!
