'Cale Lane' Band Review

Cale Lane are a six metalcore band from Wigan/Bolton, UK. Their noted influences include August Burns Red, The Devil Wears Prada, We Came As Romans, Bury Tomorrow and more band of a similar genre. This helps to give a good idea of the sound Cale Lane are going for but do they achieve the desired sound? Let's find out...

Cale Lane come out of the gates sounding, ironically, a lot like “At The Gates” – the Swedish death metallers whos influential sound seemingly sits at the forefront of CL’s collective mind. In Flames is another band that comes to mind during sections of the group’s pacey metalcore rendition.

“Embracer” is perhaps the bands highlight, racing through As I Lay Dying/Killswitch Engage esque melodic breakdowns crossed with a classic up-tempo hardcore feel. Like many upstart metal groups, the absence of a vocal line that lifts the music into another gear is missing, but with time and patience Cale Lane could easily develop one.
