'Cold Summer' Single Review 'Car Crash (In Progress)'

Cold Summer are a post hardcore band from Wakefield, West Yorkshire that have made their mark through hard work. Their DIY mentality in regards to gigs and recording have complimented their fantastic sound and solid work ethic. The band released two EP's in 2012 that were met with positivity bothin live shows and through the studio recordings themselves. They followed this with a self-titled release in 2013 and some impressive support slots alongside the likes of Funeral For A Friend, Polar, Blitz Kids and more. So what are the band up to now... The answer is Car Crash (In Progress).

Car Crash (In Progress) is the newest single which will be released on Monday 22nd September. The track has a fast-paced vibe from the outset. The simple riff sits underneath the quick punk-like vocals that manage to hold melodic value despite the tempo of the song. It is easy to see why Cold Summer have had the support slots they have managing to strike the balance of a hardcore band that can also delve into pop and punk aspects and intertwine that with their general sound. This allows the band to use both breakdowns and lighter riffs to enhance their music fully. Overall the track is an exciting step towards further releases from the band!

The band are currently recording with producer Mike Bennett (Empires Fade, The Eyes Of A Traitor, The Ocean Between Us). The band have recently signed to UAC management and are in the process of booking another tour before the end of the year, as well as having studio time booked to finish work on their next release.
